LEI Registration

Obtain your Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) for RBI, SEBI, and global financial compliance
(as per RBI circulars, SEBI LODR, and GLEIF standards)

What is a Legal Entity Identifier?

The Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) is a 20‑character alphanumeric code that uniquely identifies legal entities participating in financial transactions. It is a global standard managed by the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) and endorsed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for various regulatory filings.

RBI has mandated LEI for all corporate borrowers with aggregate exposure of ₹5 crore and above. SEBI requires LEI for non‑individual entities trading in securities or reporting under the Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR).

Key Regulations

  • RBI Circular DBR.No.BP.BC.92/21.04.048/2017‑18 (and subsequent updates) – phased implementation of LEI for large borrowers.
  • SEBI Circular SEBI/HO/MIRSD/DOS3/CIR/P/2018/140 – LEI for non‑individual shareholders and traders.
  • LODR Regulations – LEI for listed entities and their related parties.
  • LEI is also required for cross‑border transactions, OTC derivatives, and insurance reporting.

Benefits

  • Unique global recognition of your entity.
